Description
No 1 Silver Street is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is colourwashed and rendered, likely built from stone rubble, and features a slate roof that is gabled at both ends with end stacks. The house has a symmetrical plan with a central entrance flanked by two front rooms.
The exterior is two storeys high with a three-bay symmetrical front that includes a dentil frieze below the eaves. The central entrance has a recessed 20th-century front door set within a decorative doorcase that includes pilasters, an entablature, and a cornice. The windows are 12-pane sashes. The rear elevation features a complete set of sashes and an arched stair window with glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features from the same period as the building.
