Description

No 28 High Street is a house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and has a 20th-century pantile roof with stone slates at the eaves. The building stands two storeys high and features two first-floor windows. On the ground floor to the right, there is a part-glazed door, and a central doorway that has been blocked, flanked by 4-pane sash windows, with further blocking to the left, all under a timber lintel, which likely once formed the fascia for shop windows. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows. The house has shaped kneelers and ashlar coping, with end stacks. It is included for its group value.
