Description
No 20 High Street is a building that was originally two houses, now combined into one. It is dated 1735 but has undergone extensive alterations since then. The structure is built from rubble and has a concrete interlocking tile roof. It stands three storeys high and features two windows on the first floor. The building has partial quoins and a central 20th-century part-glazed door, which is set beneath a reused lintel that has a central keystone. This lintel is flanked by recessed panels inscribed with "I G" and "1735". On the ground floor, there are 20th-century three-light casement windows that are recessed in their openings and slightly angled to create a bow effect. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows, while the second floor features 12-pane unequally-hung sash windows. There are end stacks present. The building is included for its group value.
