Description

Two houses, built around the early 19th century, are combined into one building. The front is rendered, likely over a stone rubble core, with a slate roof, gabled at the ends. There are end stacks to the main section of the roof and an axial stack on the No. 14 side. The houses were originally planned as a pair, with No. 16 possibly serving as a shop at one time. The front doors are located centrally, paired together, with rectangular fanlights above – sharing a doorcase featuring pilasters and a cornice. The first floor has three two-light timber casement windows, each with two panes of glass. On the ground floor, the left side originally featured a timber shop window with a pivoting top section, while the right side has a twelve-pane sash window. The room above the cart entrance has a similar two-light timber casement window with two panes of glass. The cart entrance itself, with its doors, is a rare survival from around the early 19th century. The rear elevation includes an arched stair window, dating from the early 19th century, with leaded panes. The interior was not inspected, but contemporary features may still be present.
