Description

The Cullompton War Memorial is a First World War memorial built in 1920 by Eastons of Exeter, funded by public subscription. It is made of rock-faced granite. The memorial features a square plinth topped by a large, slightly tapered pedestal divided into two parts, which is surmounted by a Celtic cross with a tapered shaft. On the front of the plinth, there are bronze crossed rifles, and on the back of the pedestal, there is a bronze wreath. The front of the pedestal has an inscription, and the names of the deceased servicemen are inscribed on the front and sides. Additionally, the names of those who died in the Second World War and subsequent conflicts are also included on the memorial.
