Description

42 High Street is a mid-19th century house that is part of a row of buildings. It is constructed from cob with a stone plinth, which is plastered over. The slate roof is continuous with the adjacent No 44, which is also a Grade II listed building. The house features a right-hand side axial chimney stack with a brick shaft.

The exterior consists of two storeys and has a symmetrical front with three windows. Both the ground and first floors have six-over-six hornless sash windows. The ground floor windows are positioned on either side of a segmentally-headed doorway, which contains a six-panel door and a fanlight above.
