Description

Elmdene is a house that likely dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of rendered cob and has a slate roof. The building was originally probably designed with a three-unit plan. It stands two storeys high and features a three-window range with 19th and 20th century casements; the central door has been blocked. There are brick stacks located at the ridge and at one end of the house. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have some ceiling beams. Elmdene is included in the register as an example of cob construction, situated in an area of the village that contains several other cob buildings nearby.
