Description
Withywinds is a pair of cottages that have been converted into one house, likely dating from the 18th century. The building features plastered cob on rubble footings, with rubble or cob stacks that are topped with 19th and 20th-century brick. It has a thatched roof and was originally designed as two cottages facing south, with a two-room plan cottage on the left (west) and a one-room plan cottage on the right (east). The right end has a projecting stack, while the left has a rear lateral projecting stack. The house is two storeys high and has three windows fitted with 20th-century casements that have PVC glazing bars. There is a central door with a hipped thatched hood. The original left cottage had two windows and a central door, while the right cottage had a door on the left side. The roof is hipped at both ends, and inside, there are plain chamfered beams.
