Description
The Saddlers is a building that consists of two cottages, which have been combined into one. It likely dates from the 18th century and was modernized around 1978. The structure features partly plastered cob on rubble footings and partly exposed rubble, with a rubble stack that is topped with 20th-century brick and a thatched roof.
The building has an irregular gable-ended shape facing southeast. It includes a former one-room plan cottage with a rubble front and an end stack to the left (southwest), as well as a former two-room plan cottage that is rendered and has disused rear stacks. The overall front has four irregular windows, which are a mix of late 19th-century and 20th-century casements with glazing bars.
The left end of the building has a rounded corner, with eaves that are higher and a ridge and roof pitch that are lower than the right-hand section. There is a door to the right of the former left cottage and a blocked door on the right cottage. The thatch lifts over two first-floor windows on the right cottage.
