Description
2 Prospect Place is a house built around 1850, constructed from volcanic ashlar with volcanic stacks topped with 19th-century brick and a slate roof. This two-storey cottage has a two-room plan and faces south, featuring end stacks, one of which is shared with the adjacent 1 Prospect Place. The front has two windows and a central plank door set in a flat-arched doorway, which is sheltered by a flat-roofed 20th-century porch. On the left side, there are two-light timber mullioned windows. To the right, there is a projecting flat-roofed ashlar bay that has matching three-light mullioned windows on the front and single lights on the sides. All window lights contain 21 small panes, except for the side lights of the bay, which have 14 panes. The building has a gable end to the right and a pilaster buttress that marks the division with the left cottage.
