5/101 Mayfield Cottage, side wall, dwarf front wall, 12/1/66 railings, and gate to front garden

GV II

House. Early C19. Ashlar; slate roof; engineering brick integral end stacks. L-shaped plan; 2-room range to front and extension to rear. 2 storeys; 3 windows, glazing bar sashes with shaped and painted lintels, and painted surrounds, those to left and right are tripartite and have colonettes as mullions with moulded bases and caps, flanking each light; central cast-iron trellis-work porch with glazed doors and low-pitch gabled roof replacing a high concave sided roof, the outline of which can be seen on the wall above; half-glazed door with lead lattice-work. Interior: Early C19 open well staircase with wooden hand rail and decorative cast-iron balustrade incorporating fleurons; panelled window shutters to front rooms. Side wall to right and dwarf wall with decorative cast-iron railings and gate partly enclose a small front garden.
