Description
The gate piers, gateways, and walls located to the east and southeast of Mayfield Hall date from the 18th century and are constructed of ashlar stone. The carriage entrance to the east of Mayfield Hall is flanked by square-section piers topped with pyramidal caps. Sections of coped walling curve around to similar end piers, with a pedestrian gateway interrupting the wall on the left. The walls extend southward for approximately 150 yards and westward for about 10 yards. The southern wall features piers at intervals of every 25 to 30 yards, while the western wall is interrupted by a pedestrian gate that is flanked by square piers topped with ball finials.
