Description

Brook Farmhouse and an attached outbuilding date back to the 17th century. The farmhouse is constructed of ashlar and has a clay tile roof with coped verges, featuring ashlar stacks at the centre and ends. It’s laid out north-south and forms an L-shape with a roughly three-bay outbuilding to the northwest, aligned east-west.

The two-storey farmhouse is four bays wide, with a roof extending over the left-hand bay to form a lower gable over the attached outbuilding. The farmhouse’s windows are chamfered and mullioned. The three right-hand bays have three-light windows, the one to the left of centre has four lights, and the first-floor centre window has two lights. Mullions are extended to create blind panels between the first and ground floors and a continuous dripstone runs above the ground-floor windows, with a ramped detail at each end. The central doorway has half-glazed panels, flanked by pilasters leading to an entablature. The outbuilding at the left has a segmental window in the gable end.
