Description
Waterlake Cottages is a pair of cottages, likely built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed from plastered cob and rubble, with cob or rubble stacks that have brick chimney shafts, and feature thatched roofs. The cottages are adjoining and each has a two-room layout, facing south with mirrored plans on either side of a dividing wall that is probably made of cob. Each end wall has a projecting stack. The buildings are two storeys high and have a symmetrical front with four windows in total, featuring late 19th century and 20th century casements, with two windows for each cottage and central doors. The right door has a 20th century glass-sided porch. The roof is hipped on both sides and is flanked by tall chimney shafts. Inside, the carpentry detail is plain.
