Description

Crawford Cottage and Lydgate are a pair of cottages built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of cob, with the exterior rendered and whitewashed. The cottages have thatched roofs, featuring end and central brick stacks. Inside, the first-floor ceilings are made of straw and lime plaster, with some areas finished with 20th-century plasterboard. There is a 20th-century lateral stack located between the first and second bays from the right. The buildings are two storeys high and have a total of four windows. The windows are two-light casements, some of which have full glazing bars while others have horizontal glazing bars. To the left of the center, there is a gabled porch that features a 20th-century door.
