Description

Crawford Bridge is a medieval road bridge over the River Stour, which was widened in 1819. It features coursed rubble and ashlar construction with nine semi-circular arches. Upstream, there are triangular cut-waters that rise at alternate piers to create pedestrian refuges. The parapets are made of chequered flint and ashlar, topped with pitched ashlar coping. On the east side, there is a reset stone inscribed with the year 1719.
