Description

The buildings at 54 and 54A St Leonard’s Road date to around 1840 and are constructed of stucco, exhibiting a Greek Revival style. They are two storeys high with a three-window frontage. There are three-light sash windows, and a central niche containing a vase on the ground floor. Pilasters define the quoins, and a pediment tops the building. The windows have moulded architraves. A doorway is located on the left-hand side, also topped with a pediment. The sash windows retain glazing bars. A parapet hides the roof. Original gate piers remain, but the railings have been removed. The buildings are part of a group with numbers 52 to 60 (even) on St Leonard’s Road.
