Description

No. 85, St Leonard’s Road is a projecting terminal house built as part of a circa 1830 terrace. The building is primarily stucco faced with three storeys. First and second floor sill bands extend into and across a broad segmental arched recess incorporating the ground and first floors. A thin string course is present at the second floor level. The building has a moulded cornice and blocking course. It features one window on each floor, without glazing bars. The first floor window is a French casement opening onto a cast iron balcony with a geometric pattern. A doorway is located to the right with a segmental arch and impost bands. The door itself is of four flush panels, partly glazed, with a leaded oval pattern fanlight. A two-storey, one-window bay is set back and has a parapet sweeping up to the main house.
