Description

The Crispin Public House is a circa 1830-40 terminal house within a terrace. It is stucco faced and double fronted, standing two storeys high. Tuscan pilasters flank the facade, rising from a plinth to the bed mould of the frieze, and terminating in a moulded cornice topped by a parapet that returns to the gable end. There are four windows on the first floor, featuring recessed glazing bar sashes. The ground floor includes a canted bay window with a pent slate roof on the right-hand side. To the left are a round-headed window and a round-headed doorway with a fanlight above a tripartite window. The Crispin Public House contributes to the wider group value of numbers 56 to 96 (even) on Grove Road.
