Description

No. 56 on St Leonard's Road is a building dating from around 1840. It is constructed of stucco and consists of two storeys with a five-window front. The central section projects forward and features a pediment. There is a Roman Doric porch, and the ground floor has French windows, along with moulded architraves and pediments above sash windows that include glazing bars. The building is adorned with quoin pilasters and has balustraded panels on the parapet. The roof is not visible. On either side, there are screen walls that include garden doorways and parapet vases. The property also has contemporary cast iron gate piers. Nos. 52 to 60 (even) form a group with this building.
