Description

A pair of cottages dating from the mid-19th century, located on the north side of Longmeadow Road in Lympstone. The cottages are constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a gabled-end slate roof. A brick stack is located at the right-hand end. The front of the cottages has a four-window range, with two 16-pane horizontal sliding sash windows and two 2-light casement windows on each floor, all set within depressed window arches. A blocked window is positioned above the door of Rose Cottage. Both front doors have a simple canopy. The cottages are listed for their group value, particularly in relation to Elmside, Bass's Orchard, and Lavender Cottage.
