Description

Barrington Villa is an early 19th century villa, originally stuccoed and featuring Gothic details, with some later alterations. It is two storeys and has an attic. The roof is slate, with gabled dormers containing pointed two-light casements and bargeboards. The front elevation has three windows; the outer ones are in slightly projecting bays with intact glazing bars. A central, first-floor canted bay features sash windows, pointed top panes, and marginal glazing. A moulded cornice is topped with decorative iron cresting. A central rectangular entrance bay has fretted cresting, a porch with multiple shaft columns and an entablature with fretwork cornice. The entrance door consists of four panels, two of which are glazed. The rear elevation has three recessed sash windows with pointed top panes; the central first-floor window is round-headed with marginal glazing. All windows have drip moulds above them. A trellis porch is located centrally at the rear.
