Description

Rose Cottage and Tolcis Cottage are a circa 16th-century stone pebble house. The cottages have a steeply pitched corrugated iron roof with gabled ends. They are two storeys high with a four-window range. A two-storey gabled porch is situated to the right of the centre of Rose Cottage, featuring an inner doorcase with a moulded four-centred arch and a cambered arch doorway at the back of the cross passage. An oven is located in the angle to the side of the porch. A gabled rear wing extends to the northwest.

The interior of Rose Cottage includes jointed cruck trusses. A cross passage is present, as well as a plank and muntin screen and a four-centred arch doorway to the side of an inserted stack. There is an open fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and a chamfered lintel. Chamfered ceiling beams feature half-pyramid stops. A newel staircase has a heavy wooden balustrade at the top.
