Description
Higher Westwater Farmhouse is a stone rubble house dating from around the 16th century, with a byre at the lower end that has been converted into cottages. It features a thatched hipped roof and stands two storeys tall, presenting a long range of four windows. The 19th-century casements on the first floor have eyebrow eaves above them, while the ground floor has larger casement windows with concrete lintels. There are modern glazed doors on both the left and right sides of the building. Brick ridge chimney stacks are present, and at the rear, there are two stone rubble wings from the 17th or 18th century.
Inside, the farmhouse showcases cruck trusses, which are likely joisted but covered with plaster. The ceiling beams are stopped chamfered.
