Description

Springfield is a house and former school room dating from around the 18th/early 19th century. It is constructed of plastered stone rubble with an asbestos slate roof and gabled ends. The main house is two storeys high with a four-window front, featuring sash windows with glazing bars. A 20th-century French window replaces a window on the ground floor. A single-storey wing, likely dating from the mid-19th century and believed to have been used as a school room, is attached to the right (south-east) side. Brick chimney stacks are located at the ridge and gable ends of the building. This building has group value from the contribution it makes to the character of its setting.
