Description

Coryton Park is the surviving wing of a former mansion that has been demolished. It was built between 1754 and 1756 for Benedictus Marwood Tucker, who served as sheriff of Devon in 1763. This north wing is likely the service wing. The structure is made of white-washed red brick with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The original moulded stone cornice has been removed. The building has rusticated stone quoins and a plinth, along with a band at the first floor level. It is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay façade. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set in plain stone architraves that include keystones and bracketed cills.
