Description

The bridge at SY 069 843 is a small road bridge over Budleigh Stream, built around 1830-1840. It features a brick arch that is faced with blocks of dressed local sandstone on both the front and back. This single-span bridge has a low elliptical arch with neatly-shaped voussoirs. At road level, there is a projecting plain dripcourse and a very low parapet that has rounded weathering. The parapet curves outward at each end, leading to plain terminal piers that also project outward. In the 20th century, iron railings were added into the coping.
