Description

These railings, located alongside the road between Wynards Road and the War Memorial in East Budleigh, date from the late 19th century. They are made of cast iron and were produced by the Kerslake Foundry of Exeter. The railings run along the eastern side of the road, separating it from the Budleigh Stream that flows nearby. The standards of the railings are octagonal in shape, featuring tapering stems with a broad band that supports circular rails, as well as narrower bands above and below, topped with round caps. Some of the railings display the founder's legend. These distinctive railings are a charming feature of the High Street.
