Description
School Lane Cottages are two cottages dating from the late 17th century or 18th century. They are built of red sandstone, rendered, and feature a thatched hipped roof. The cottages are two storeys high and have a front elevation with three windows and two front doors. The ground floor has three 2-light timber casement windows, likely from the 20th century, while the first floor windows are also 2-light timber casements set beneath shallow eyebrow eaves. At the rear, there is a lateral stack, two doors leading to the rear, and one very small window to the left of the stack. Inside, there is one room that contains a large unchamfered beam. These cottages are part of a group that includes Willow Cottage, Ford House, Little Thatch, and Vine Cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
