Description

This bus shelter, built in 1925 by Randall Wells, is made of red sandstone and volcanic trap, topped with a hipped thatched roof. It measures approximately 4 metres in internal length. The exterior features rounded ends, while the interior has splayed ends and a straight rear wall. The front is open with corbelled jambs, and there is a timber wall plate around the entire structure with a shallow chamfer, slightly arched over the entrance. The floor is flagged, and a memorial plaque on the rear wall reads: 'Presented by her parents in memory of Ellen Acland'. Inside, there is a bench seat made up of four units.
