Description
This is a row of cottages located at 4, 5, 6, and 7 Strand in Lympstone, dating from around 1840. They are constructed of roughcast brick and feature gabled-end slate roofs. Each cottage has a single-depth plan with one room and an entrance hall. The buildings are two storeys high.
The front of the cottages has a 16-pane hornless sash window on the first floor of numbers 4, 5, and 6, while number 7 has two such windows. Each cottage has one window on the ground floor. Number 4 is accessed from a lane at the left-hand end, while the others have front doors. Numbers 5, 6, and 7 have canopies over their doors, with numbers 6 and 7 featuring shaped brackets and retaining their original panelled doors. There are axial stacks with brick shafts. This row of cottages is included for its group value.
