Description

This is a milestone located 140 meters north of Pound Farm, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of limestone and features a triangular stem with convex sides set on a square base. The original lettering is incised but has become illegible over time. The milestone has been overpainted with the following legends: on the left side, it indicates Cricklade 5 miles and Cirencester 10 miles; on the right side, it shows Wootton Bassett 3 miles. At the top, it states Bath 32 miles.
