Description

Fussell’s Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the early 18th century. It appears to be a heightened version of an earlier single-storey, single-bay cottage. The lower storey is rendered, while the upper floor is timber framed with wattle and daub infill and brick noggings, covered by a thatched roof. The cottage has two storeys and one bay, with a gable stack and an inner room. A two-storey brick lean-to extension projects beyond the external gable stack. The timber framing is two panels high and lacks bracing. An entrance is located at the lower end of the living hall, leading to a mid-20th century door within a lean-to porch. Timber casement windows are present. There is a 20th century lean-to kitchen at the rear, and the roof is hipped.
