Description

Spring End is a house dating from the 17th century. It is built with roughcast on timber framing, although much of the timber frame has been replaced with brick. The roof is thatched. The house is a single storey with an attic, originally comprising three bays: a living hall, an unheated inner room, and a service bay with a gable stack. The south gable features jowled posts, and the roof is constructed with clasped purlins. The main entrance is at the rear, opposite the central stack, and consists of a boarded door with a gabled pantiled porch. Paned timber windows now occupy the openings, replacing earlier windows, although stone label mouldings, likely from the early 19th century, remain above them. There are two dormers in the roof. The roof has a half-hipped section on the left and a stack on the right gable. The interior was not inspected.
