Description

Old Manor Farmhouse is a timber-framed farmhouse dating to the early and late 17th century. It is located in Urchfont, near Wedhampton. The frame has whitewashed brick noggings, and the roof is thatched. The building is originally single-storey and attic, but has been raised by one panel to create a two-storey section. It comprises six bays, following a lobby-entry plan. The original two-bay living room is likely an earlier structure, with a stack and entrance in a half bay on the south end. The structure was then extended southwards by a further two bays, terminating in a brick-built store with an external entrance in the sixth bay. A simple canopy covers the panelled front door. There are 19th-century timber two-light casement windows. A second stack was added to the hipped right end of the roof. The interior has not been inspected, but may be of interest.
