Description
This boundary post, located about 100 metres east of the Old Vicarage, dates from 1840. It is a cast-iron T-shaped post featuring a low pedimented cap on its arms. The left arm has relief lettering that reads "FISHERTON/DE LA MERE," while the right arm displays "WILY (sic)/DEPTFORD." This post is part of a series of cast boundary posts and mileposts along turnpikes that radiate from Warminster, manufactured by Carson and Miller, a local ironfounders.
