Description

WYLYE WARMINSTER ROAD SU 03 NW (north side), Fisherton de la Mere 2/144 Boundary post about 100 metres east of the Old Vicarage GV II Boundary post 1840. Cast-iron T-shaped post with low pedimented capping to arms, relief lettering to left arm FISHERTON/DE LA MERE and to right arm WILY (sic)/DEPTFORD. One of a series of cast boundary posts and mileposts on turnpikes radiating from Warminster and manufactured by Carson and Miller, a firm of Warminster ironfounders.
