Description
This boundary post, dating from around 1840, is located on the west side of the entrance to the track leading to Starveall. It is made of cast iron and has a T-shaped design with a low pedimented top. The post features raised lettering on the left arm that reads "CODFORD ST MARY" and on the right arm, "FISHERTON de La MERE." This post is part of a series of cast-iron boundary posts and mileposts that were installed along turnpikes radiating from Warminster, and it was made by the ironfounders Carson and Miller in Warminster.
