Description
Gardeners Cottage is a detached cottage dating from around 1700. It features a chequered flint and limestone exterior with a tiled roof and gable end brick stacks. The entrance is located at the rear. The cottage is two stories high and has two windows; the windows are casements. On the ground floor, there is a glazed door to the right of the center, a two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement to the right, and a three-light mullioned casement to the left. The first floor includes a three-light and a two-light mullioned casement.
The right side of the cottage has a blocked two-light mullioned casement and a 20th-century glazed door to the right. The first floor features a two-light mullioned casement and a single chamfered light in the outshut to the right, while the attic to the left has a single chamfered light. The left side has a brick lean-to extension. The front facing the road has an outshut with a blocked doorway, which now contains a two-light casement and a three-light mullioned casement to the right. The eaves of the outshut have been raised in the 20th century, and two gabled dormers have been inserted. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a chamfered lintel set on stone jambs.
