Description
Oak Beams is a detached cottage dating from the early 18th century. It features a distinctive exterior of flint and limestone chequers, with English bond brick on the left side and Flemish bond brick on the sides. The cottage has a half-hipped thatched roof and a brick stack at the rear, with the gable end facing the street.
The building is two stories high and has a three-window front. The central door is flanked by a three-light metal casement window on the right and a three-light recessed chamfered mullioned window with a hoodmould on the left. On the first floor, there are three two-light casements and one single chamfered light above the door. The right side of the cottage has no windows, while the rear is constructed of limestone and flint and features a lateral stack with toothed capping and one fixed window on the ground floor. The left side has one two-light casement on the first floor, along with a 20th-century porch and a flat-roofed extension.
Inside, the cottage includes chamfered beams with step and run-out stops. The first floor has some wainscot partitioning and a blocked open fireplace with a chamfered stone lintel featuring bar stops.
