Description
The railings and gates in front of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin were constructed in 1832. They consist of cast-iron spear-head railings set on a low rendered stone wall. The gates are notable for their good craftsmanship, featuring spear-head and fleur-de-lys heads. These gates are mounted on wrought-iron four-sided piers that are adorned with cast-iron anthemions and cappings topped with finials. The double gates are located to the left, accompanied by approximately 12 metres of railings. To the right, there is a single gate attached after another section of railings that measures about 29 metres long.
