Description
The Warren is a semi-detached house located on Orcheston Elston Lane. It dates from the late 17th century, with alterations and enlargements made in the late 19th century. The building is constructed from limestone and flint, topped with a steeply pitched hipped roof made of Welsh slate, and features brick stacks with stepped capping.
The entrance is positioned at right angles to the road, with the gable end facing the road. The house is two stories tall with an attic and has a three-window front. To the left, there is a 20th-century door and porch. To the right, there is one three-light ovolo-mullioned window and one two-light chamfered-mullioned window, both recessed and featuring hood moulds. The first floor includes a single chamfered light and two two-light 19th-century casements. The roof has two gabled dormers.
On the left side, there is a late 19th-century single-storey extension. The right return has one two-light casement on the ground floor and one two-light ovolo-mullioned window along with one 19th-century casement on the first floor. Attached to the rear is a late 19th-century house, which is not of special interest. Inside, the property features chamfered beams with concave and step stops.
