Description

The Old Vicarage is a vicarage that has been converted into a private house. It was built in the early 19th century and extended in the mid-19th century. The building features limestone ashlar and English garden wall bond brick, with some areas rendered, and a Welsh slate roof topped with grouped octagonal ashlar stacks.

The south front is two stories high with seven windows, all fitted with sash windows. To the left, there is a two-storey canted ashlar bay that includes French windows and 12-pane sashes. To the right, there are two sashes on both the ground and first floors, along with a plat band and pilasters featuring a key motif. The mid-19th century addition on the left also has two sashes on each floor.

On the right side of the building, there is a two-panelled entrance door located at the gable end of a late 19th-century wing, along with two sashes and one blind window on the ground and first floors to the left. The sash window above the door has a hoodmould. The left side has an external stack with a truncated top. The rear of the building features sashes and a gabled rear wing that includes a sash window with a hoodmould and a moulded coped verge.

Inside, the vicarage has grey marble fireplaces and four-panelled doors. It ceased to function as the vicarage for Fisherton de la Mere in 1929.
