Description

The boundary post opposite the Happy Eater cafe is a boundary post dating from around 1840. It is made of cast iron and has a T-shaped design with a low pedimented top. The post features raised lettering that reads "CODFORD ST PETER P. / ASHTON GIFFORD T." on the left arm and "UPTON LOVELL P." on the right arm. This post is part of a series of cast-iron mileposts and boundary posts located on turnpikes radiating from Warminster, created by the Warminster ironfounders Carson and Miller.
