Description

CODFORD WARMINSTER ROAD ST 94 SE (south side) 4/78 Boundary post opposite the Happy Eater cafe GV II Boundary post. Circa 1840. Cast-iron T-shaped post with low pedimented top and raised lettering: CODFORD ST PETER P. / ASHTON GIFFORD T. on left arm and UPTON LOVELL P. on right arm. One of a series of cast-iron mileposts and boundary posts on turnpikes radiating from Warminster, made by Carson and Miller a Warminster firm of ironfounders. (R.
