Description
These are three estate cottages, built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of yellow Flemish bond brick with red brick dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. The cottages are arranged in a T-shape, with the main entrances facing away from the lane on the west side.
The west front has two storeys and five windows. The central bay is pedimented and projects forward, featuring a two-light casement window on the ground floor. Flanking the doorways are further two-light casements. The right-hand doorway has been altered with the insertion of a two-light casement window. A three-brick plat band runs along the front, and five two-light casements are positioned on the first floor.
The rear of the main range has a two-light casement window on both the ground and first floors, located to the left and right of a two-storey wing. The wing’s south side has a 20th-century door within a gabled porch, flanked by two-light casements, and two further casements on the first floor. The north side of the wing features a single ground floor casement and a blind window on the first floor. A single-storey addition, built in the 20th century and matching the style, is attached to the gable end of the wing. All casement windows have flat brick arches with keystones. The cottages represent a well-preserved example of estate building in the village.
