Description

Milestone located near the junction with the A303, dating from the late 18th century. It is made of limestone and features a pitched top with incised lettering that reads "To/SARUM/XI/To/Warminster/X/1766." This milestone may have been repositioned during road improvements. There is a cast-iron milepost opposite on the north side of the road, which likely replaced this original milestone.
