Description

This boundary post, dated 1840, is a cast iron T-shaped structure located in Bishopstrow Village. It features the names of parishes on each arm, with "SUTTON VENY" on the left arm and "BISHOPSTROW" on the right arm. Below these names are the initials "C & M/W". This post is one of a series of boundary markers along the Wylye Valley, created by Carson and Miller, a firm of ironfounders that operated in Warminster starting in 1820.
