Description
The barns formerly associated with Manor Farm in East Kennett are two attached structures built in the late 17th to early 18th century and the 19th century. The eastern barn is the older of the two, featuring four bays with a timber frame set on brick sills, clad in weatherboarding and topped with a corrugated iron roof. There is a midstrey located to the north on the third bay from the east. This barn includes jowled posts that are braced to cambered ties, queen struts, collars, and two purlins with windbraces at the lower level. The second barn, attached at the western end, consists of eight bays and has a midstrey on the north side of the fourth bay. It is also timber framed, weatherboarded, and has a corrugated iron roof, with queen post trusses supported by angle struts from low shoulders on the posts.
