31, Catherine Street

31 Catherine Street is a mid to late 19th-century building that stands two storeys high with an attic. It is constructed of red brick, featuring yellow brick dressings. The roof has a steep pitch and is tiled, with a diamond cut brick cornice. The parapet is surrounded by yellow brick and raised steeply in the center, forming a gable over the dormer. The dormer contains a sash window with intricate foliage carving in the shallow tympanum and a low triangular arch above it.

On the first floor, there are three windows; the outer ones match those in the attic, while the center window is a large tripartite sash with a deeper tympanum and more elaborate carving. The ground floor features a central two-light shop window, with a side window and a glazed and panelled door at each end, all flanked by fluted pilasters topped with elaborate foliage caps. Above this, there is a fascia and a blind case. The front of the building is likely a recasing of an earlier structure.
