Description
46 and 48 Catherine Street are late 18th century to early 19th century buildings, likely fronting an earlier structure. They stand three storeys tall and are constructed of colourwashed brick. There are wooden bands between the storeys, and the second floor may have been heightened in the early 19th century. The gable end has a tiled roof that has been raised at the front. The upper floors feature three windows, with the centre window on the second floor being blind. The windows are flush framed sashes with intact glazing bars, and the first floor windows are tall. A moulded brick string runs below the first floor. The ground floor has a modern shop front. These buildings, along with Nos 26 to 40 (even) and Nos 46 to 50 (even), form a group.
