Description

CATHERINE STREET 1. 1594 (West Side) 28.2.52. No 12 No 14 SU 1429 NE 4/124 II GV 2. Some C18 timber framing. Late C18 3 storeys, painted brick ground floor, mathematical tiles to upper floor Gable end old tile roof, eaves band. Symmetrical fenestration to upper floors. 3 windows flush framed sashes, the outer ones taller on 1st floor with rubbed flat brick arches, the central 1st floor window a wide canted bay with sash lights, moulded surround, lead tent roof apron All glazing bars intact. Ground floor from left to right: one sash window with panelled shutters - recessed 6 panel door with 3 pane rectangular fanlight - early C19 double shop front, 2 windows of 7 x 3 panes, turned in for one pane to door, some hinged panes Central double glazed doors, framed by panelled pilasters with acanthus ornament to caps. Plain frieze and moulded cornice across front.
